AC Update
May 2020

Dear Alumni of Augustine College,

We trust you are all well and safe at this time. We would like to bring you an update from Augustine College.

The college relocation and renovation is still in place. The hope is to move to St. Peter and St. Paul’s Church in September. Originally, we were to move in January but estimates and discussions took longer than anticipated. Honey Construction began work in March but, after only a very few days, had to suspend construction because of the lockdown. We expect the work to continue from now onwards until completion of Phase 1 in July. There have been adjustments to the original plans but Phase 1 allows us to work within the funds we have raised and completes the work necessary for an occupancy permit. It includes heating, lighting, washrooms and painting. The kitchen and mezzanine level must wait until Phase 2 after more funds are raised. There is a previous update here. The architects’ impression of the space are on that letterhead.

We thank you for continuing to stand with us, especially those of you who donate on a monthly basis which really helps in our planning. We have 8 students from Canada and US next year and eventually hope to find residences within walking distance of the college. Please help to find us more students from your churches, schools and wider contacts! This academic year unfortunately had to be finished online but, because of our small size, we are able to offer a further 10 students a normal college experience with lectures in the classroom, community activities and shared accommodation. Spread the word.

The new location is an exciting development for Augustine College. There will be many more teaching and other opportunities in this new multi-purpose space and we look forward to your participation, your presence and your prayerful support.

Sincerely,
John and Sally Patrick
